It’s not everyday a U.S. military veteran stands up to the president. Senior Airman Brian Kolfage refuses to let his war injuries keep him quiet though.
Kolfage lost his legs and arm in a second tour to Iraq but he is not angry over that. Instead, the 30-year-old survivor chose to bluntly address the issue of equality that President Obama continues to push as a key issue for Americans, though as Kolfage explained, is something the current president has never experienced.
In his letter that ran in the GOP Daily Dose Wednesday, Kolfage compared his growing up in Hawaii to Obama’s. While Obama attended a private school in Hawaii that cost most than Kolfage’s present-day bachelor’s degree at the University of Arizona, Kolfage biked to public school in one of the state’s worst areas.
You’re just another elitist rich thug who’s pretended to live the rough life growing up in the inner-city. You’re only worried about your own agenda and furthering your party instead of taking care of Americans.  Your inability to be a leader at some of the most critical points has caused both of our wars to fail. You’ve been a joke to most of our veteran community and we have no faith in your ability to lead.
Kolfage joined the military in order to fund a future college degree and noted his hard work to achieve a better life in comparison to a president he says was handed everything.
After returning from two tours in Iraq with the United States Air Force, Kolfage noticed a change in his country, moreover in the leadership, calling Obama more of a “community leader” than president. He sided with recent author Robert Gates, who tore apart the Obama Administration in his memoir, Duty.
Kolfage does not appear to have any ulterior motives, nor a quest to become rich and famous. He lives simply, well-adjusted to a new life that includes fewer limbs but certainly no lack of wisdom and honesty.
